Hello! My name is Maria. I live in Novosibirsk, in Akademgorodok. I am ten. I have not got sisters and brothers. I live in a block of flats. I have got two pets: a dog and a cat. They are very funny. I like reading books, listening to music and playing the piano. I like Novosibirsk and Akademgorodok. I want to tell you about the House of Scientists.

The House of Scientists is my favorite place in Akademgorodok. It is situated in the center of Akademgorodok. The House of Scientists has got a famous “Winter Garden” with fountains and beautiful armchairs made of roots of the trees. There is a very big tree and it grows just from the ground in the “Winter Garden”.

There are different exhibitions in the “Winter Garden” and in the gallery in the House of Scientists. There is the garden , fountains and a restaurant, and near the restaurant there is a Sport Hall. On the second floor there is a Small Hall. In the Small Hall scientists can see films and have some talk. There are three International clubs: English, German and French. On the second floor there are many rooms for the lessons in different clubs too: Music, Art and Photo. In the right wing of the building there is a theatre. Between the right and the left wings there is a long hall: this is the place for the exhibitions. On the second floor there is a balcony from which you may see the whole street. People call the House of Scientists the “visiting card“ of Akademgorodok.

I like the House of Scientists because it is a very interesting place. We often go there to see the films and exhibitions. Once I was at the children summer camp there. So you can understand why it is my favorite place in my town.
